This Term we spent time each day training hard for our Cross Country. We travelled out to Ashhurst Domain for our big day. It was a great day and lots of us had success and made the interschool team.
Here are some pieces of writing we did about our big day.

We have been learning about 3D shapes and looked at net designs. Our challenge was to design a net for a rectangular prism using ICT.
We had to plan our design, think about measurements and remember to include tabs.

|Striving for accuracy with our cutting|
|Testing out our net design. ( Looks good!)|
Once we were happy with our net we used the our creative ideas to come up with a brand of chocolate to decorate the box.

This term we read the novel 'The Invention of Hugo Cabret'. In the story they give clues about a famous old movie from 1902 by George Mèliés. We did some investigating and found the movie. Using animation we retold the movie. It was great fun and a whole lot of team work.

Here is a look at some of our first term's artwork.
We created monochromatic silhouette portraits. We had to carefully blend different tones of our chosen colour and use precise painting skills to fill our portraits.
We also created some abstract landscapes with strong, bold warm and cool coloured pastels.

In Room 1 we had a go at writing some haiku poems to do with the arrival of autumn. We worked hard to make our ideas fit the structure of syllables needed. We were creative and innovative with our tessellating autumn inspired backgrounds.
Here's a look at some of our work.
