After our river visit we were curious about pH.
We did some experiments using purple cabbage to test wether things were acid or alkaline.
The vinegar turned the cabbage pinky-red and the baking soda turned it green.
It was fun getting to use some scientific equipment like test tubes.

This Term we spent time each day training hard for our Cross Country. We travelled out to Ashhurst Domain for our big day. It was a great day and lots of us had success and made the interschool team.
Here are some pieces of writing we did about our big day.

We have been learning about 3D shapes and looked at net designs. Our challenge was to design a net for a rectangular prism using ICT.
We had to plan our design, think about measurements and remember to include tabs.

|Testing out our net design. ( Looks good!)|
Once we were happy with our net we used the our creative ideas to come up with a brand of chocolate to decorate the box.

This term we read the novel 'The Invention of Hugo Cabret'. In the story they give clues about a famous old movie from 1902 by George Mèliés. We did some investigating and found the movie. Using animation we retold the movie. It was great fun and a whole lot of team work.
